Georgia Buttle, IT and Telecoms Co-ordinator
“I first joined Norland as Receptionist and Facilities Administrator. An opportunity came up in the IT department and I grabbed it! The company has continued to support my development and it’s great to be part of such a fun team.”
-

Sunil Kanda, HR Manager
“As an HR Manager with Norland my role takes me across the UK to sites as varied as Scottish Power, M & S and HM Courts! It’s great to be part of a company that offers such variety in the customers we work with and the career opportunities we offer. It’s hard work but without a doubt the most exciting and fast moving company I have worked with.”

Liam McCann, Catering Engineer
“I have been working for Norland for four years and in that time have seen Norland move with the times and provide all necessary training and equipment for me to carry out my role and develop. I look after nine kitchens that cater for 6,500 people in total. I feel respected by the management and have enjoyed advising on tenders for work with other companies that require catering support.”
-

Steve Spink, Electrical Engineer
“Norland is a well organised company and seems to be run more efficiently than my previous employers. Communication with Norland is good, I always enjoy hearing of new contract wins. The management team are very supportive, I have never felt compromised in any situation.”

Leigh Page, Mechanical Engineer - Acting Operational Supervisor
“I joined Norland as an apprentice in 2003 and fully qualified as a Mechanical Engineer in 2008. I was very pleased to be kept on full time after a great apprenticeship. I am part of an exceptional team made up of people with different levels of knowledge and expertise. I love it when we collaborate to come up with solutions to solve a problem or to simplify a process that will improve things on site.”
-

James Sutton, Electrician
“I joined Norland in 2009, I am happier working for Norland than I have been in the past working for any of my previous employers. In particular I like the emphasis that is put on health and safety.”
-

Ian Thomas, Business Unit Director
“I joined Norland in 2008 as an Area General Manager in London. I was soon offered a place on the Company’s ‘Managers of the Future’ development programme which gave me new skills and a personal business coach. This was in addition to a wide range of other training and learning activities. I have now been promoted to the role of Business Unit Director and am using my new knowledge to grow my own business unit. If you have the determination and ambition to succeed, then Norland is the place that can offer real career progression… and fast.”
-

Mary Muldoon, Apprentice
“I have been an apprentice at Norland since October 2009 looking after general maintenance. I work four days a week and then one day is spent at college. I get on really well with the team and I get to experience everything. I have routine days but learn so much. I found out about the apprenticeship through the internal newsletter Q3, as my Dad worked for Norland and brought it home. Getting my hands dirty is the best thing! I have been on a number of courses and have the opportunity to go on other courses in the future.”
-

Colin Skinner, Lighting Engineer
“I have found Norland to be a considerate employer. There are good training opportunities, in particular, the e-learning tools are useful. I have also found there to be a strong emphasis on health and safety.”
-

Colin Donnelly, Contract Manager
“I enjoy the fact that I have full accountability for the contract I work on and the team that I work with. I feel I have the full support of the management team and can look for advice when I need it.”
-

Ray McEwen, Mechanical Engineer
“Communication at Norland is open and honest and I have found the management team to be open to feedback. Training is in line with current health and safety regulations. Nobody is left in a position where they don’t know of the latest changes in the law.”
